Ben Schneider Car Crash ICU

Donation protected
On the morning of Thursday February 6, 2020 Ben was in a car crash.

Ben is unconscious in critical condition with head trauma and brain swelling.

Ben is a proud father, a loving husband, a dedicated coach and an enthusiastic elementary PE teacher.

Ben is the dad we aspire to be: encouraging his kids, and everyone else's kids, to get outside and love Alaska.

Ben is a woodworker, back-country skier, dog musher, fat biker, river rafter, fly fisher and board game enthusiast.

Ben loves hauling his kids outside: often hiking up a mountain, regularly traipsing to a fishing spot, sometimes skating across the ice,  but especially skiing on the snow.  Any kind of skiing.  All kinds of skiing.

Ben is dedicated to his students at school and in his free time.  He volunteers with youth downhill skiing, volunteer coaches youth nordic skiing, and volunteers all summer organizing our youth mountain bike club.

Ben volunteers on the board of our local mountain bike club: hosting races, building trails, leading rides and teaching youth and adults how to have fun on the Mirror Lake Singletrack trails.

Ben is loving husband, married to his high school sweetheart.  He always puts his wife and family first.

Ben is needed by his family and his community.

His injuries are serious and he and his family will need a lot of medical and financial support.

Ben is who we need more of in our lives. If you know him, you know this to be true. If you don’t know Ben, think about who that person is for your community and the hole that it would leave. Fortunately Ben breeds optimism, and Ben has a family who can and will do the same.

Help us support them.  Thank you.

EDIT REQUIRED BY GOFUNDME: All funds will be donated to Ben's wife, Nicki to be used for expenses supporting Ben and his family.  Nicki and Ben's account has been linked directly to this GoFundMe.
