Victoria Windell’s Amputation Recovery

On December 16th, a beloved member of our community, Victoria Windell was involved in a tragic accident while helping a co-worker push their car out of a parking spot. Unfortunately, the car was accidentally put into drive rather than reverse, pinning her leg against a concrete wall, resulting in a broken Tibia and Fibula (among other injuries). She had remained in the hospital since the accident, undergoing multiple surgeries. The most recent of which took place in aims of cleaning an infection, but ultimately resulted in the amputation of her leg from the knee down. Victoria, her daughter Sage, her son Porter, and her significant other Steve, are preparing for many more extensive surgeries and hospital visits to come. If you know Victoria you know she cherishes her work with Jefferson County Head Start and giving back to the community as much as possible. If you live in her community you know she loves yoga classes, snowboarding, hiking, and having a meaningful conversation over a cold beer. She loves any activity that brings her closer to her friends and family that she holds so dear. Victoria and her family have a very long road to recovery ahead of them. Any help during this life changing transition, in aims to make ends meet, adapt the house and car, as well as paying for uncompensated care and medical equipment would mean the world to her.
