MICROPHONE FUNDRAISER

Hello friends,

I have made this to help raise money for a new microphone which will allow me to record more professional sounding recordings to help my career as a singer/songwriter/producer

It is for a Shure Sm7b and a Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter CL1.

The Shure Sm7b is a legendary microphone that has been used for vocals on some of the biggest records of all time.  It is also a common choice for rock vocals over microphones that are six times the price. I think my vocals will sound a lot smoother and more powerful through this mic than what I currently use.

The cloud lifter is a device that boosts the mics signal and help to reduce background noise picked up from the mic.  This is really useful for me as I don't have a studio and can hear noise from outside on my recordings (so i have to wait till night) and also echo from the room.

The Sm7b is more direct than my current mic which means it will pick up less echo from the room and I will also be able to record live sessions with much less microphone bleed.

On amazon the Shure Sm7b is 565GBP

And the cloud lifter is 136GBP

So my target is 701GBP

This mic may seem expensive but the MOST commonly used mic on huge HIT records is made by a company called Neumann and is roughly 2200GBP so in comparison it is a lot cheaper. 

 I hope to be able to raise enough for that microphone too one day (through what I hopefully achieve using the Shure Sm7b) some years down the line but in the meantime... the Shure Sm7b will be a major step up considering it's successful history and help me get to where I need to be. And I may get the Neumann one day and decide I prefer my voice through the Shure anyway which has happened with many big vocalists so the Shure mic is really worth it.
