Mission Trip to Malawi, Africa

Since I moved to Orlando, I have been blessed to grow in my relationship with the Lord through my chruch family at Summit Church. Recently the opportunity arose for a small team of us to go to Malawi this coming March. We are going to work with a ministry in Lilongwe, Malawi called Children of the Nations. Children of the Nations is a nonprofit organization that partners with nationals in the USA, Dominican Republic, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Uganda and most recently in Haiti and Liberia to provide holistic, Christ-centered care for orphaned and destitute children, enabling them to create positive and lasting change in their nations. 

Summit has an ongoing relationship with one of the full-time missionaries in Malawi and has decided to send my team this spring to help with their ministry work. They have many areas that need help, and during the time we will be there the greatest areas of need are relationship evangelism (facilitated through a sports camp), maintenance/administrative projects and in home ministry. One of the things that we stress at Summit is that "you never lock eyes with anyone who doesn't matter to God," and through these projects our main goal is to show the men, women and children we interact with that God has a plan for their lives and He loves them dearly. 

I have experienced the power and necessity of prayer as I have gone on other interantional projects in the past, and I understnad the need of a strong and dedicated team supporting me back home. Although I am excited to connect with the people of Malawi, I cannot do this alone. I want to ask if you would consider joining me on this project in prayer, and if you feel led to, financially. As you can probably imagine, with our trip right around the corner (March 1-11, 2013), raising the funds will be one of my greatest steps of faith in preparation for this project. The overall cost of the trip is $2,500, which will cover travel fees, accommodation, food and other necessary expenses, and any amount you could offer would be a blessing. Any money that exceeds my personal goal will go to help our specific project as a whole.
