MS Relapse... AGAIN! Help If You Can!

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Valerie Johnson. I am married to Scott Johnson, and have 2 amazing children... Scotty and Charlie Brooke! In January of 2013, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I spent 7 days in the hospital, and received IV steroids. After that, I went through a month of physical and occupational therapy. In mid February, I was able to return back to work.

Then in October of 2015, I had a terrible relapse!! I literally was taken off of my feet, and missed 5 months of work. Once again I went through physical and occupational therapy.

During this last year, I have been off and on sick and even had the flu! Then on Monday November 18th, I got sick with a stomach virus, and I believe that has triggered this relapse. Not being able to walk very well, balance and coordination are off some, using my cane, and my cognitive has been somewhat affected (And that is scary.). I have been on oral steroids and even made a trip to the ER to get IV steroids. And nothing has helped. So last Wednesday I went to see my neurologist (He is wonderful by the way!), and he was very concerned that I was not getting better. He ordered lab work and an MRI. The lab work was fine, and the MRI showed no new lesions (THANK YOU, JESUS!)! But that doesn't mean I can't have a relapse. The next step is for me to have what is called an IVIG. It has to be approved by insurance, and we will have to pay a deductible just like we had to for the MRI. Thank goodness we were able do payment installments for the MRI. And my doctor is not letting me go back to work until my treatment is complete and after I see him on January 9th.

Like alot of families, we live paycheck to paycheck. And we are struggling. Thank you to those have helped us so far, you have blessed us so much!! But we still need help, and I never like to ask.
