Millie's Care

Donation protected
We adopted Millie Nov. 12, 2018. She was rescued from a shelter in Boone County, Kentucky, that has a high kill rate. Teenage boys found her with three puppies, abandoned on a mountain. When we added her to our family, we anticipated typical vet costs. She was infested with fleas and had Lyme disease. We got her vaccinated, on antibiotics, and flea and heartworm meds. She was spayed March 14, 2019. She's my shadow and I adore her. We suspect she was mistreated as she is anxious and timid but she is the sweetest dog I've ever come to know. On Sept. 28 I took her to our vet due to lethargy, vomitting, diarrhea, and malaise. We were urged to take her to the ER where she was admitted, given IV fluids, and diagnosed with Addison's disease. Thankfully, we were able to bring her home...$4,000 later. She requires monthly electrolyte monitoring, daily prednisone, and monthly injections of Percorten. Between vet visits and medications, we have incurred $6,500 in debt. We promised when we adopted her we would give her the life she deserved. We would be ever so grateful for any help to reduce the debt to significantly reduce the financial strain we are currently experiencing.
