Remote Orphanage needs school supplies

(Updated 5/2020) My name is Shaun Hays and I am a husband and father located outside Chicago, IL. For the last two years, while working for myself and fixing up an old house to be comfortable for my own family, I have been helping my dear friend in Uganda, Africa continue his efforts at Ebenezer Child Initiative, a remote orphanage that was in ruins when I arrived in 2017. Thank God it is doing well now! Last year we agreed to fund a new location for the project and everyone is happy with the upgrades (which met our 2 yr goal!) There is a need of several things we were not yet prepared to fund so we are asking for your help today: We need funding for school supplies. We have had many great victories so far and have provided new shelter, a new gate, a new bicycle for the Leadership and so much more every month. We have several people who are helping us maintain the daily lives of those who otherwise would perish. However, the govt of Uganda is demanding that we meet certain standards of childcare such as educational staffing. We are severely understaffed. We use a handful of volunteers to maintain the grounds and all aspects of the lives of our 300 plus orphans. The govt is requiring that we soon staff the facility with full time teachers and a credited schoolmaster. We also need the books, pencils, chalk, desks, paper etc. Please if you can help us to get supplies for the orphanage soon, the government will be satisfied that we are truly doing all we can to make this a very safe environment for our Orphans. Thank you! I’m new at this site, so I’ll post more and update you as I can. Also, I’m keeping everyone here that began donating to the Gate and keeping the amount the same. We achieved that goal with the help of a donation outside this site. I don’t know if that’s ok to do or not but id like to continue this until we reach this final amount.
