Help a veteran and his kids after a loss

Thank you for taking a minute to read this story about a family fighting for their future.  Charles Catob, a current Army Reservist at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa Florida, is working through a difficult time that no one person should be faced with at once.  He and his two daughters, Alijah age 6 and Ayden age 2, lost their wife and mother, Jessica, on October 29^th.  She tragically suffered a brain aneurysm on Oct 27^th while watching TV at home.  She immediately went into a coma and as a result of this, suffered her  2^nd stroke of the year.  After her first stroke in May she and Charles were able to get their living wills in order.  One of her requests was she never be kept alive by life support equipment.

The doctors informed Charles that the stroke took place in the part of the brain that manages a person's conscience and that she would probably not make it.  Two days later, on October 29^th, Charles had to make a decision that no man would ever want to make; he informed the doctors of his wife's wishes and gave them the authority to move forward with taking her off life support.

On November 3^rd, 2012, Charles, Alijah and Ayden laid Jessica to rest at a beautiful and heart felt ceremony.  Charles says, "the funeral home did an amazing job with her and she looked like a sleeping beauty". 

On November 6^th at 6am, Alijah woke her dad because the house alarm was going off.  He replied that it was probably Grandma not being able to reach the alarm fast enough.  Unfortunately, he was wrong and they quickly realized it when the smelled smoke.  Charles ran to the front of the house, looked out the window and saw that his house was engulfed in flames.  He was able to get the kids and his mother in law out to safety.  However, the smoke, fire and water took its toll and ¾ of his house was destroyed.  Unfortunately, he had not put his wife's things away after the funeral and much of it was destroyed in the fire.  The fire inspector's report came back and the declared the fire was a result of an arson.  That night, there were 4 other houses in his neighborhood that were either broken into or vandalized.

We ask that you give as little or as much as you like and please think of Charles' little girls.  This is an effort to help relieve some of the burden being shouldered by a young man and the grief being felt by two little girls.
