Replace the DEAD farm truck
C & D Family Farms is an all natural free range hog farm.
Crystal and Dan moved from Chicago to Knox Indiana 7 years ago. After
going to 2 hog confinement barns we decided we wanted to raise hogs outside on
our 15 wooded acres which is their natural environment so they could live happy
"natural" lives without fear. We use no sub-therapeutic
antibiotics, meat byproducts, steroids or hormones.
We currently have 175 hogs of all sizes on the farm. Feed takes 2
hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. 900 pounds of feed is
distributed in an average day. 700 bales of straw are taken out and
placed in huts throughout the year.
We are trying to raise money to replace our farm vehicle. We currently
have a 12 year old durango with 289,000 miles. The shocks are gone, the
breaks don't do a lot to stop the car and the starter doesn't work all the
time. We need a reliable vehicle to get feed and straw out to the hogs in
all weather through the woods and pasture.
