Help for Joey and Stephanie

Donation protected
On Monday, November 11th, Joey Cournoyer was hospitalized due to an infection from a wound in his leg. He was diagnosed with cellulitis and put on antibiotics. The infection was so severe that his kidneys and liver had already shut down. The doctors and staff at Hartford Hospital are doing all that they can to treat him. They have run tests and have tried to get all of the fluid build up out of his body. He has been put in the ICU due to the severity of his infection. His blood pressure is too low, so they had to put in a central line for medications and fluids. This quickly progressed into it being necessary for him to be sedated and ventilated because the fluid build up is so bad that he cannot breathe on his own.

As of this morning, November 13th, the medical staff has given him a 10% chance of survival. They have taken all the steps necessary to treat him and have maxed all doses of medications, he is still septic. We are at this point only able to watch and pray for a miracle. He is currently 100% on life support.  Joey is the primary source of income for his family. He and his fiancee Stephanie have been together for six years and are planning to get married in June. He has been a father figure in the lives of her children, Elsie (10) and Jason (8). He also has a daughter, Marissa, and grandaughter, Chloe. He is a hardworking man who makes it a priority to be there for his family and to make sure they are taken care of. Our hearts are breaking.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to cover the expenses related to supporting his family while he is out of work, and to help cover any medical bills that may result from his extensive care in the hospital. Stephanie is by his side, encouraging him to fight this infection so he can come home. All funds raised will go directly to her.  Please consider donating if you are able, and if you are not, please continue to support the family in whatever ways you are able, as they will need all the care they can get in the days and weeks ahead. We are praying fervently for his full recovery.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart,
Christine (my husband is Stephanie's cousin)
