Please Help Kevin Brown With Medical Bills!

Hello everyone, as you may or may not know, my dad Kevin Brown has been in the hospital critically ill. On July 3, he suffered from a severe heart attack on the way home from work. My mom, Kimberly Moll, rushed him to the emergency room where they told him he was having a heart attack and needed to be transferred to Wichita for better care. The heart attack left his heart running at 20% capacity. They planned on doing a heart bypass, where they would have to work on 3 out of his 4 heart valves. A day before surgery, we got the news that his kidneys were now failing, and the surgery would need to be pushed off until they knew he would stand a better chance of making it through. When his kidneys began working, they rescheduled surgery only to find out hours before the scheduled time that he was now infected with COVID-19 as of July 10. Immediately, he was placed in quarantine and none of us were allowed to see him, as well as my mom being put under quarantine as well. She later tested positive too. COVID took a huge toll on his body, putting more stress on his heart and other vital organs. His kidneys began failing again, and his blood levels were low. He needed multiple blood transfusions and dialysis to keep his body going, but it still was barely enough. Kevin coded on the doctors. He stopped breathing, and had no pulse. The doctors performed CPR and managed to resuscitate him. They told us that regardless of risk, Kevin needed the surgery or he wouldn’t make it through another round of that. On July 24, Kevin underwent a nearly 6 hour heart bypass surgery and made it through successfully. However, his heart beat still wasn’t as strong as it needed to be, and his kidneys were failing again. The kidney failure led to a very high amount of confusion. He had light confusion beforehand, but not to this level. He no longer knew where he was a lot of the time, and became very paranoid with the doctors and nurses. They aren’t sure if it’s purely from the kidney failure, or if a lack of oxygen from COVID-19 had an effect on it. It will be two weeks since his surgery tomorrow, and his condition seems to be worsening every day. His gall bladder now has a bad infection that will require surgery, which they aren’t sure he will make it through. He’s still needing blood transfusions, which they discovered was because his bone marrow has stopped making more. Kevin didn’t have health insurance, or any kind of savings that could even make a dent in the medical bills that are piling up, from nearly a month in the ICU now, to all of the procedures and transfusions needed, and possibly more to come, it’s become overwhelming for my mom. She has a limited income, and is having to pay rent, two car payments, and all other bills mostly on her own. Many places are refusing to help out, such as her apartment complex not allowing her on their low-income policy, and the banks still expecting regular, on-time payments for the vehicles. Kevin’s job has announced they are shutting down permanently as well. They are unsure if he would ever be able to go back to work again if he makes it through this, but even if he could he’d be jobless now. Kevin’s social worker has told us that it could take two years or more to get him on social security. He can’t wait two years to get financial help when these bills are here and now. Everyone who knows him knows that he is the sweetest man alive who cares for everyone. He has been the strongest father figure in my life, and has cared for me like his own son as long as he’s known me. He doesn’t deserve to go through all of this, but we can’t request what cards are thrown at us in life. I’m starting this GoFundMe to help out my mom and dad pay some of the medical expenses, as well as help my mom pay her bills she needs to just to get by. Things are unbelievably tough on our family right now, and I’m asking for any help I can get for them. It would mean the absolute world to me and them, and any help would be so greatly appreciated, no matter how small.
