Medical: Baby Aaliyah In NICU

Longtime family friends of mine, Rachel and Aaron, are a newlywed couple that just had their first child the end of July. Sweet baby Aaliyah came at just 24 weeks and will have a long road to recovery in the NICU. Much care, tests, and time are needed to ensure Aaliyah grows to be a healthy baby and ready to leave the hospital. As with any medical journey, there are many expenses to be paid and not all are covered by insurance. Not only will the insurance deductible need to be payed, Rachel struggles to get in as many hours of work as she can fit around stays at the hospital. Support and skin-to-skin with Aaliyah has greatly helped the success of NICU treatment and needs to be continued throughout this journey. Aaron spends his days working full time, staying at the hospital, and finishing up the nursery in their new house. With a reduced household income and high medical deductibles and co-pays, Aaron and Rachel are struggling to manage their finances on top of supporting their baby daughter’s fragile medical condition, any contributions will be deeply appreciated.
