Support Mona Going To The Commonwealth

The last year has been an amazing journey. I took up Powerlifting at the ripe old age of 50 and competed in my first competition in June 2018 where I qualified for the British Masters. Following the All England Championship in May this year where I got bronze , I have been invited to represent England at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship in Newfoundland, Canada in September. What an amazing honour! I’m chuffed to bits!I have never been very sporty and I’ve come a long way in the past couple of years. I have struggled with back issues from an early age and 10 years ago I had a disc removed from my spine. Two years ago I started going to the gym and with the support of my amazing personal trainer, Kimberley Skelton, she suggested I take up Powerlifting. And I absolutely love it!Powerlifting is an amateur sport which does not receive any funding , so I have to self fund all my training, coaching, equipment and all travel expenses to competitions. Going to the Commonwealth would be an amazing honour and anything you can do to support this goal would make a huge difference.
