More Info on FNDTwo years ago my daughter, Kacie King, was going to college, working, and enjoying being a newly wed to her husband Patrick. Then the unthinkable happened. What started out as a backache went from numbness and tingling in her legs to complete paralysis. She was admitted to the hospital and after a week of numerous testing, Kacie was diagnosed with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder). FND is a medical condition in which there is a problem with the functioning of the nervous system and how the brain sends and/or receives signals.
Kacie did regain the use of her right leg but unfortunately her left leg remains paralyzed and she is confined to a wheelchair. She also suffers from chronic pain and is under pain management but it doesn’t take all the pain away. It is extremely difficult for her loved ones to helplessly sit by and witness her in so much pain. This disorder has devastated our family in many aspects.
Very little is known about the treatment of FND and finding a doctor is also difficult. After much research, we have found a doctor in Colorado who has a two week intensive outpatient program of “retraining the brain” where some patients have left the program without any symptoms of FND!
The doctor in Colorado has agreed to treat Kacie in this program, but unfortunately Kacie’s insurance is not accepted. We need to get Kacie to Colorado to get the help she so desperately needs. We have asked for your prayers and So many people have been faithfully praying for Kacie’s healing for the past two years and we are eternally grateful for your prayers. Now we are asking for your support to help us get Kacie to Colorado! We thank you for anything you can do for our sweet Kacie!!
