8-Mile Clean Up And Rebuild

Donation protected
8-mile was built in 1986 by my dad. 8-mile has been a special place for children and adults of all ages to enjoy a little adventure just a hop and skip outside of Fort Yukon. My mom (Julie Mahler) hosted numerous camps and has given up hours upon hours of her time and energy for the youth in Fort Yukon and the surrounding villages. She is “Nana” to all and she works tirelessly to teach the youth our culture and traditions. 8-mile was a little sanctuary outside of Fort Yukon that she was able to take kids to and just allow them to enjoy the woods in a safe environment. Unfortunately, a few days ago 8-mile was burned to the ground. Mom shed a few tears and then said in a quiet determined voice, “I guess we will just have to rebuild.” Several folks have asked how they can help or donate. Mom is not the kind of person to even consider asking for help (and she is probably going to yell at me for this). BUT, since I am not able to be there to help physically, I would like to help her financially. She is a tough woman and I think we can all show her a little kindness and appreciation. Let’s raise enough funds that she can clean up the debris and start rebuilding. Or at least get her a little gramma tent (canvas) to set up out there.
