In the early hours of the morning of Wednesday, the 12th of June, the UK’s first electric skateboard store and community hangout, Wick Boards, was the victim of a smash and grab. The front of the shop was broken open by a van and a large amount of goods stolen.
CCTV picked up the two individuals responsible as well as the number plate of the van used to break into the store. However the police have told us they are unable to act on any of the information they have to date.
As a newly started family business this could mark the end for Wick Boards. The expenses of repairing the shutters and covering the stolen stock is more than we can afford. This is a massive blow to the UK eSkate community that it was built for.As you can imagine this has devastated the owner and his family. He put his life and soul into building this shop over the past year as did many others.
It’s why we're calling on the esk8 community around the world to help. We’ve gotta cover the costs otherwise they will have to close the doors for good.

The whole store was self funded and built as a community hub. It would be a shame to see so much good work be destroyed by a bunch of worthless thieves.
We estimate the cost of replacing goods is around the £25,000 mark but anything will help and any excess will be donated to Make Life, Skate Life a grassroots campaign to build community skatepark projects in India, Bolivia, Jordan, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Nepal, Morocco and Iraq that have impacted the lives of thousands.
