Abused and Neglected Golden Girl NEEDS US

We just rescued this sweet girl from a very sad and unfortunate situation. She has been tied up outside to a barely 4 foot chain since she was a few weeks old. She’s about 2 years old. She had never been on a walk or anywhere other than where she was tied up. Random un-neutered male dogs would come around and be forceful and agressive with her. She couldn’t protect herself or run off. These unfortunate events resulted in her having a few litters of puppies. We have no idea what happened to the puppies or if they are still alive. People in the neighbourhood would hit her with rocks when all she wanted was to say hi. The kids quickly learnt from the adults so they started throwing rocks at her. This was happening daily. Thank goodness for a couple of kind samaritans, that would go feed her and give her fresh water . We were told she was depressed and wasn’t very interested in eating. When we rescued her she was covered in fleas, had quite a few ticks and extremely skinny. We didn’t think she was as skinny as she was going to be because of her fur. She’s very small for a golden retriever. She didn’t have the chance to properly develop since she was tied up all her life. We have taken her to the vet and she has been spayed, dewormed, got her flea treatment and she has gotten all of her shots. Since she was tied up from a few weeks old, she’s never had the basic needs a dog needs to have a healthy normal growth and bone development. She was in an area that was very small and would lie on cement or rotten wood. Now this is where we really need your help. She has hip dysplasia. It’s bad on one hip and the other will go as well, just a matter of time. After many talks with the specialists and veterinarians we have decided to go for an FHO surgery (Femoral Head Ostectomy) on both hips. After this surgery she will need approx 2 months of rehab and close care. She’s uncomfortable and in pain. We have been giving her medication to make her as comfortable as we can. She does need the surgery and soon but we don’t have the funds to do so. Any amount helps. We can’t do this without any of you. Truly. Please share if you can to help us get the word out.
