Peru Solidarity Trip
One of the many things we at Regis
College are proud of is our ability and success in living out the mission of
the Sisters of Saint Joseph. We are dedicated
to welcoming all, making a difference, loving God and others, and excellence
with gentleness. During our time at Regis,
students are a part of welcoming all and loving others, making a difference in many
ways. We participate in food, clothing and
book drives for the needy, volunteer with the homeless, elderly and sick, as
well as support disadvantaged elementary and middle school students. We are proud of these efforts and the
countless others that we engage in throughout the year. As we become leaders in our academic and
athletic endeavors, we strive to serve not only our local communities, but our
global family as well.
Over the last eight years, Regis College
has offered students, faculty and staff the life changing opportunity to
participate in the Peru Solidarity Trip.
This Spring Break experience has been a staple on our campus, allowing
students, faculty and staff to spend a week in Villa El Salvador, Peru. The Peru Solidarity Trip expands our global
consciousness as a community, permitting us to embrace the similarities and differences
of our dear neighbor. We are proud of
the authentic solidarity between the Peruvian people and Regis College. I am one of the 23 delegates selected for
this year's trip. I feel extremely
blessed for this opportunity and know that with this blessing comes a lot of
responsibility. All delegates
participate in fundraising to pay for travel and living expenses. Our fundraising efforts also aid the people
of Villa El Salvador with much needed supplies and resources.
