Hi! I created this page for my cousin Adam who was recently diagnosed with cancer. This is his story from the family:
"Adam complained of rib pain that we thought was related to a basketball injury. The initial diagnosis was a rib contusion, followed by a diagnosis of pneumonia twice. We eventually ended up in the emergency room because we knew something wasn't right. In the ER they did a CT scan which to our horror and disbelief showed a left lung mass with mets to the spine. Adam was emergently sent to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte and had surgery to stabilize his spine and remove the tumor that had taken over his T9 vertebrae. The diagnosis took almost 2 weeks, but we now know that Adam has a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called Nut Midline Carcinoma. Because the cancer is so aggressive, chemotherapy must be started immediately. He will also have radiation and more surgeries. The PET scan showed spots on his T1 vertebrae, hip, and leg. The oncology team in Charlotte is working closely with doctors all over the world to ensure Adam is getting the best treatment possible. We ask for your prayers more than anything. We believe in the ultimate healer and we know God is in control. We also want to provide Adam with the best and latest medications and treatment, which can add up quickly financially.
