Muhammad family fund

Hi. An update on Muhammad, family and friends. Due to the fighting and bombing in Al-Raqqah,  (he was shot in the leg, as some who contributed to his hospital costs, will know) Muhammad moved to Tal Abiyah, on the Syrian -Turkish border. Here he is safer as it is in control of an aspect of the Free Syrian Army.

He has recovered from his wound.

On a positive note, he and a friend (who has a passport) have found a small business opportunity: the possibility of supplying food and clothing on the border crossing at Tal Abiyeh. To do this they needed a loan to set up a small shop. In a very generous act, the loan (and Muhammed insists it is a loan) this has been provided by a good friend in Melbourne who has graciously underwritten the small enterprise. This hopefully means Muhammad and his friend will become, in the next few months, self-supportive. On each occasion Dr Fiona Hill or I have spoken to him, he cannot thank you all enough for the contributions you have made to him and his family. Hopefully this small enterprise will remove his need for outside support, something as a young Bedouin man, he has been uncomfortable asking for. Also, when this nightmare is over, hopefully the investment in him will continue to pay social dividends. Thank you all, again. for your support. Will keep you up to date on how things are going.
