As many of you know, Nancy had a stroke last week. She is recovering, but will have a long road ahead.
This woman has worked her butt off over the years. I've watched her raise her boys, go to work, and mind her business. She never asks for help. She's always upbeat. And she is freaking hilarious. You see her in Wal-Mart, or Price Cutter or Casey's. Chances are you have a "Nancy" story. There is not enough paper in the world to write down all my Nancy stories.
I admire her. She's lived in the same place, worked the same place, forever. She doesn't ask for help. She does what she needs to do to provide for her family. And she always has.
But, at least for a little bit, she will need help. She won't ask for it. But I will.
She's been my friend for well over 20 years. And probably yours too. If you can spare a few $, please do. It stinks that money is always a stressor when things get tough. But it is. Growing up in a small town, we take care of our own. And Nancy is def one of us.
