Heartbreaking Family Loss

On Monday April 8, 2019 I received a call while at work that my cousin Wendell L. Simpson passed away. I immediately called his sister, Deborah, she was already aware and in route to him. I began to think on what I could’ve done differently. How I should’ve been there for him. Did he know he mattered to me and our entire family? Anyone who locally knows Wendell, knows he chose a particular lifestyle. I can only assume, Wendell was in a lot of pain and like many of us try conceal that pain with substance abuse. You may remember him riding a bicycle through SED or seeing various videos of him passed out or falling down, funny to many but not me. You see I remember the Wendell Simpson that was extremely intelligent, went to college on a football scholarship, could fix absolutely anything from electricity to carpentry! He may have been just a local joker to some but to me he’s blood. My family has been trying to complete Wendell’s arrangements, but tragedy has struck our family yet again!!! Wendell’s Brother Reginald D. Simpson “Shawn” has also been called home. For those that don’t know Shawn relocated to New York. He was aware of his brother’s passing and was making preparations to come to Texas. It is my understanding Shawn passed April 13, 2019. This news is absolutely devastating to my family and at this point we have no other resources. We need to bring Shawn back to Texas to be buried. I’m asking you find it in your heart to help my family in any way possible bury our loved ones. If you’re unable to assist financially please send prayers. God Bless you.
