Send Kendyl to Africa

So we all have dreams we would like to make real, right? Well this is a chance to make someones dream and career come true.  Kendyl has a chance to travel with her college to a game reserve in Africa next summer for 2 and a half months.  Her lifelong dream is to open her own wildlife reserve.  Of course, money is not easy to come by so I'm asking for donations to send a very special person to her dream! :)

Hi guys! I finally get to add some stuff to this! (It's Kendyl if you didn't know...)

So you guys actually know what I'm trying to do I'll give you some more info. So the whole thing is about wildlife management and that's the direction I'm heading toward career wise. The internship is through the Nyati Consevation Corps. They accept about ten people and send one or two to different game reserves throughout Southern Africa. So you get to work one on one learning about wildlife management. This can include working with animals, the habitat, or people. From the Nyati CC website, "Day-to-day tasks will vary from flora and fauna identification, preparation for incoming clients, supplemental feeding, disease and parasite control, game capture, anti-poaching patrols, working with visitors, bush management, to nightly game counts:. counting large herbivores on foot, fixing holes in fences, clearing invasive tree species or soil erosion control. Less physical involvement may include: collecting flowering plants for the species list, calculating wildlife stocking densities or monitoring habitat conditions by means of a grass survey." i'm working on getting more information for everyone too! The trip itself is 10 weeks (10 weeks!!!) for $6700 plus air fare which will be about $1200 to $1800. There's also about $100-$200 in insurance. I have to put down a deposit to secure my spot and then I get put on first come first serve scholarship consideration for $1000 scholarship. Also, once I get back from break I'm going to talk to my adviser about tying it to my major so that I can get scholarships, loans, or what have you to cover more of the cost. Plus I'm sure my adviser will be able to help with more fundraising ideas. You guys are amazing and I can't believe how much has been raised in just one day. I've wanted to go to Africa for so long now. The fact that this is possible makes me go a little crazy.. and cry. Good cry of course! Thank you everyone!!!
