Misty Whitmire-Haas

Misty was diagnosed in Aug 2010 with Rectal Cancer that had spread to her liver. She immediately had surgery to have the rectal mass removed as well as two masses in her liver. But there was still a tricky mass left on liver that had wrapped around the vena cava (major artery). Doctors were unable to remove the mass, therefore sending her to Memphis and Little Rock to different Drs who were unable to help as well. Misty went through chemo but the liver mass only continued to grow as well as another mass in the pelvic area-- most likely attached to her uterus or an ovary. Misty then went to MD Anderson to undergo clinical trials.
