We are sixteen students from Frank McCourt High School on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. We are going to Costa Rica to study the social, political, and economic climate in a country surrounded by struggling nations. We will learn to better understand how to be proactive global citizens and to actively participate in improving the world in which we live. We will study the ecology, education system, and commercial life of Costa Rica and present our findings to our school when we return. We have been chosen to go on this trip based on a rigorous application process including an essay, character evaluation, and attendance record. We are fundraising to go on this trip because many students cannot afford to go and we have to raise $35,000.00 by December! We are making it a team effort to raise all of the money by doing fundraising in our community. The money will cover round-trip airfare, breakfast, lunch and dinner, tour guide, sightseeing, canopy tours, and tour diary. PLEASE HELP US RAISE THIS MONEY SO WE CAN GO! Thank you for your support!
