THANK YOU for reading my story. My name is Kame Jo Thomas, I am a 43 year old single mother of a 10 year old ADHD child. He brings home straight A's from school, but struggles to make friends because we have moved around a lot. I am trying to relocate to Dekalb County, GA so I can reunite with my son in a good school district and nearby medical care for myself.
I have suffered with renal failure for 4 years, with dialysis 3 times a week, congestive heart failure with a recent open heart surgery, as well as monthly visits to the ER for abdominal paracentesis (draining my belly of 4+ liters of fluid with a needle and suction device). For these reasons, it is challenging to obtain a part-time job for additional income to pay for relocation. I am on a very fixed income (Social Security Disability).
I am requesting a donation of $1.78 per person (less than the cost of a 20 oz. soda) for relocation assistance from Philadelphia, PA to Dekalb County, GA. You will make our family's reunification possible!
I am also the caregiver of my 70+ year old mother, whom I live with in Philadelphia, PA, so I will be relocating us both to Dekalb County, GA to be with my son.
