"Elias 8th Grade DC school Trip"
Hello family and friends!
Please help Elias to go on his 8th grade East
Coast Trip! His 8th grade class will be visiting Washington D.C.,
Gettysburg, New York and Boston in 8 days and we can't get there without
you! This is a wonderful opportunity to reinforce what he will be
learning about U.S. History this year with a trip to see where much of
it took place with his own eyes. In Washington D.C., he will be
visiting the World War II Memorial, White House, Arlington
National Cemetery, Smithsonian Museums, U.S. Capitol Building, Fords
Theatre and more.
They will then go to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania then on
to New York to visit the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the U.S.
Military Academy at West Point and even take in a Broadway show! The
trip ends in Massachusetts where they will be stopping in Lexington
& Concord to visit sites like Lexington Green, Old North Bridge, the Minuteman Statue, and historic homes of
many literary figures like Nathaniel Hawthorne, Lisa May Alcott and
more. Before flying out of Boston, they will take a tour of the Freedom
Trail including: Boston Common, State House, Historic Graveyard, Old
South Meeting House, Faneuil Hall, the Old North Church, and U.S.S.
Constitution-"Old Ironsides" and more sites if time permits.
This trip will help history to come alive for Elias and really get him to understand his family history!
