MOTORCYCLE TRIKE

Ladies and Gentlemen,

This letter is from Raleigh Police Officer Arthur "AJ" Luedtke, who has been fighting MS for over 6 years. The Greater Raleigh Emerald Society has been standing with him during his fight. I implore each of you to send this letter out far and wide. I know there are enough Emerald Society members nationally and internationally to assist in this battle. There are a lot of evil diseases being fought by good people each and every day. This one, MS, is robbing AJ of his quality of life, and possibly his life itself. We are a very special band of brothers, who are not afraid to fight evil. Most of us deal with it every day. I ask each of you to bring AJ behind the shield and destroy his foe.

Thank you and may God bless you,

Jack Libby, Vice-President - Greater Raleigh Emerald Society - Raleigh, NC

In September 2005 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I have stayed on the department refusing to give up my fight to find a treatment that will give me a better quality of life for my two children, my wife, myself, and allow me to go back to full duty.

My name is Arthur G. Luedtke Jr. "AJ". I am 35 yrs. old, married to a beautiful wife Julie, father to a 5 yr. old son Sean and a 15 month old  daughter Leah. I can't even feed my daughter due to my severe tremors. I was diagnosed with MS on Sept. 21, 2005. My first symptoms were tremors in my right hand. My disability has slowly increased over the years. I now suffer with severe tremors in both hands, I have a bad limp in my right leg with occasional drop foot, and my balance Iis horrible. My balance is so bad you could push me over with a stiff push of one finger. I can't even walk and carry my daughter in fear I might fall with her in my arms. I can't run and play ball with my son in the backyard. My 5 year old son can walk faster than me! When my wife and I go out, it looks as though I'm drunk. I see the stares from people and just wonder what they must be thinking.

My son loves sports and I can't even play with him. I take my son outside and I have to sit because of the severe fatigue and my inability to run and problems walking. Please help me to have the chance at a better quality of life for my kids, my family, myself.

I am a police officer for the city of Raleigh, NC. I have been on desk duty since July 2007. Prohibited from wearing my uniform badge, and gun. My son asks me all the time if I'm a police officer because I can't wear my uniform. He asks where my uniform is and I start to cry.

I have tried everything to control my MS, nothing seems to work. Nothing works! I even have a Deep Brain Stimulator in my brain. I am too young to go out on disability. You have the power to provide that change. You can see how desperate I am.

Please help. . A desperate man in the prime of his life stricken down with this paralyzing disease.

THIS TRIKE WILL GIVE ME A SENE OF LIBERATION FROM MY MS!!!
