Medical Mission: Ghana

Hello Everyone,
I am a third-year Family Nurse Practitioner graduate student with University at Buffalo. I love participating in humanitarian medical projects internationally and providing care in places where health care professionals or resources are lacking.
I have been selected to participate in a medical mission trip to Ghana, West Africa in January 2018 and I need your support to send me there!
An interdisciplinary team of students from University at Buffalo are going to Ghana in order to aid local efforts in the areas of medicine, education, and economic development. The need for quality healthcare in Ghana is significant. The medical team will be providing services via mobile medical clinics in the remote rural regions of the country. Essentially, we will be working out of our duffel bags with whatever we can carry. I look forward to the challenge!
I will be earning clinical hours toward my final internship in the Spring 2018 semester. I hope to be paired with local healthcare providers during the trip. This will allow for a more sustainable impact (I can learn from them and they can learn from me). And, of course, the cross-cultural exchange should be fascinating!
I am grateful for any assistance you are able to offer. Even if you are unable to provide monetary support, please keep me in your prayers as I prepare for this trip. Your donations will help me with travel expenses including airfare, food, lodging, transportation, ATM fees, currency exchange fees, passport/visa fees, travel medications, and any other unforeseen expenses. In the event that any portion of my fundraising is not needed for trip costs, then the remainder will be used to purchase additional medications and supplies (for distribution in Ghana).
