A decision was made to switch her care to UC Davis (with Stanford's blessing). UC Davis are also experts at bone marrow transplants and they are an hour and a half from her home in Grass Valley:not 4 hours away like Stanford. This way she'll be closer to her kids and gas and housing costs will be less, housing is less expensive.
Jeanie is extremely grateful there is an option to treat this horrible disease of cancer. Unfortunately, along with such a huge undertaking comes expenses not covered by insurance. She'll need housing close to the hospital - for 3 months "“ to get there daily. She'll need a 24/7 caregiver who will be responsible for daily care and driving to Dr appts. Unfortunately, the State of California will not pay for this. We're also enlisting the help of friends and family. There is so much involved in this procedure!
She won't give up hope," life is worth fighting for". Jeanie has a thirteen year old son and a beautiful twenty five year old daughter who both need their mom. She has countless friends whom she loves dearly and who love her.
The bone marrow transplant will give her an 85% chance of being disease free and possibly living 30 more years! This is a miracle! All that she has gone through, the times she felt despair, the pain...it's all worth it for a second chance at life! Jeanie thanks everyone who makes a donation from the bottom of her beautiful heart! Without you, this wouldn't become a reality! You are all her angels...
