1000 Grandmothers Travel Fund to #STOPLINE3

Anishinaabe Grandmothers have invited 1000 Grandmothers for Future Generations to come and stand with them this Spring. We are honored to be invited and committed to meeting their request. The Anishinaabe people are calling on allies, niijiiwag (*friends), and those of strong hearts, to join them in protecting their sacred land and waters from the Enbridge corporation and the highly polluting Canadian Tar Sands crude. Enbridge’s pipeline would produce toxic emissions comparable to 50 coal plants.

We urgently ask you to donate to help send Grandmothers to the front lines. The bulldozers have already cleared forests, destroyed wetlands and violated the Treaty Rights of Anishinaabe peoples. Many workers are at the man-camps, known for sexual assaults.  The pipes have been laid out. It is critical that we support the Water Protectors before the rivers completely thaw and drilling commences underneath the Mississippi River.


Why do we need your help?

Funds are being raised to support Grandmothers needing financial support in order to travel to Minnesota. Priority will be given to help fund travel of Grandmothers who are BIPOC. If sufficient funds are raised, other Grandmothers needing financial assistance will also be supported. 1000 Grandmothers for Future Generations is organizing this Fundraiser with donations directed through the Nonprofit: East Point Peace Academy. All funds raised in this Go Fund Me will be used to help fund travel expenses for Grandmothers.
