ESSENCE - new music piece for ensemble

This year many fonds on horizon for the projects and commissions suddenly disappeared. The time was already dedicated, the work was already done, as in this piece 'essence', which was granted less than 10% of the 'fair paid' based on Table of fees by Fonds Podiumkunsten. Your contribution to my work, music, art would mean a lot.
About the piece:
In Essence, the music material emerges from one frequency, which through time, dedication, action and musician involvement, opens up and organically brings us to the space ‘in between’. The concept taken from performance art ‘in between’ (creating space between performing artist, where each of them is highlighting their own material, without narrative and chamber playing) is used to build an ephemeral space, where the musicians and audience can temporarily inhabit. The musicians are also literally creating this space through placing themselves around the audience and thus bringing the process up close to the listeners. The music material is designed experimentally, minimalistic, with unpredictable content. The search for finding the musical material for developing the piece, lays in the research process of the microtonal world around the main frequency. How and with what, can one frequency strengthen without force and how can the playable action influence the colour and atmosphere?

Biography:
Petra Strahovnik (SI/NL): ‘On behalf of my beliefs I am a passenger in a current time and space, open to appearing thoughts, creating ideas, collecting pieces for artistic work, which is quivering minds.’ Since her beginning Petra has been following her path of searching for new sounds and she has never been barred by traditional way of how we think about sound and music. While attending her study of Composition and Music Theory with U. Rojko, at the Academy of Music in University Ljubljana, Petra attended festivals and seminars across Europe, where she gained new knowledge and opened her views and philosophies. She finished Master Composition with M. Padding and P. Adriaansz at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
Petra’s piece Prana, for symphony orchestra, won 66. Rostrum music competition prize, which was held in Argentina in 2019. In residency with the ensemble Modelo62, Petra is creating project DisOrders, several art works combining music and performance art to raise question on how we deal with mental health.
