The Olympic Dream!
Sports have always been a big part of my life. I had the privilege of playing volleyball in college. A few years after graduating I happened upon one of the best communities I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of, Crossfit. Quickly I fell into competing again.
While working out in the gym (Front Range Crossfit) a few months ago I was told about the opportunity to compete in a different sport, when my friend told me about a local Bobsled Combine. While I didn't know much about Bobsled, I knew it was a power sport...."A big girl sport" :)
NOW, I'm hooked! My combine scores earned me an invite to a weeklong camp at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center (a dream come true). After a week of learning how to push the sled and sometimes learning how NOT to push the sled.... :)
I started to figure it out just in time for our Rookie Push Championships.
Check out the results of the rookie competition below:
I return to Lake Placid in October to compete once again but this time against rookies and veterans; the goal is to earn a spot the National Team in hopes that the next fours years will look like this...
So what's my point???
What I am discovering about Bobsled is that it is a unique sport of hardworking athletes that dedicate their lives for a competition that lasts less than a minute! It also happens to be an expensive sport. I’ve always loved a challenge and this is my ultimate challenge, but I need your help. I would greatly appreciate any and all support, even the non-monetary kind (words of encouragement are always appreciated). GO TEAM USA!!!!!
Thank you for stopping by!

I hope this update finds you doing well...
I am finally back in the United States as my second International Competitive (World Cup) season has come to a close. The women's team had another successful season. I got to race with both Jamie Greubel- Poser and Elana Meyers-Taylor.
Jamie and I started off the season by winning both selection races. We continued with three third place finishes, ranked 2nd overall and defending our National Title in our most recent race.
Elana and I had not slid together in over a year, in our first race together we won my first World Cup Gold medal and then finished third at World Championships.
Currently, I am in LakePlacid for another couple of weeks. Even though the season is over, I am getting some much needed time on the push track and the bobsled track. This is my favorite time of the year because it is an opportunity to slide without pressure and work technique and positioning. (see video attached).
Once I leave here I will be home in LA for a month. If you are in the area I would love to see you. Then the plan is to spend the majority of the off season at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
I hope you know how much your support and worlds of encouragement means to me. It takes a village to raise an Olympian! :)
That is all for now!
