Eye Surgery Fund Raising

Donation protected
I ended up getting some pretty bad/serious news about my dog; Horus today, but also some good news too in the same turn. A trip to get his claws trimmed and general health/eye vet-checked has turned into a bit of a disaster...

Horus is my emotional support baby and tonight he is having to stay over night at the vets, as tomorrow he'll be going into have surgery in order to have his right eye removed. It has glaucoma; a metabolic cancerous tumor, with a pressure reading of between 32-34 instead of the regular pressure of 12-14.

Which means it is causing him a load of discomfort/pain and the only way to remove the tumor that has built up within his iris is to remove the entire eye...upside to this is that the glaucoma generally resides only in the eye. So once the eye is removed so is the cancer in it.

Major downside is the surgery is going to cost between $1000-$1500 in order to have his eye removed! It has to be done regardless, I refuse to have him in further pain. Over the last 13 years Horus has been a drastic help in being my emotional companion, he helps me deal with my depression and anxiety. Without him around to greet me with his ever-cheerful demenor and derpy antics, I know it would be an increasingly hard struggle to cope.

So just as he has been loooking after me all these years I want to do the same for him in return and do what is best for his health and wellbeing. But without help the cost of paying for his surgery is far from my ability to to begin with. But I'm not going to let him down. As you can see in the photo it is very puffy and he has little-to-no vision from it; which has only started showing over the last week.

I'm setting up this GoFundMe campaign tonight in order to help raise the funds because there is no way I can even come up with half the money needed to cover the cost of the surgery. Thankfully I have a wonderful vet who is already going out of her way to make it as easy as possible by arranging a one-off payment plan this time to help out where she can...she was so upset in having to tell me about what has to happen because she knows how close our bond is.

It was even my vet who told me about GoFundMe campaigns and what they can help people achieve, and suggested I set one up to see if I could find help to raise funds in order to help pay for Horus' eye surgery. I'm hoping that people read my campaign and are willing to give towards helping me and my wonderful boy Horus, the opportunity to have his surgery and keep on doing what so many other emotional support animals do best; be themselves and give unconditionally.

Thank you to all who read my campaign, for those who share it and donate funds, I'll keep posting updates on how things go pre, during and post surgery.
