Suzanne, “suz”, “suzee-q”, however you knew her, if you were lucky enough to, know that she is the most incredible soul I’ve ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. She was the type who never missed a special event in your life and was sure to send a hand made card to remind you how much she enjoyed having you in her life. She was the most caring, loving person who, in spite of being dealt some very tough cards in life, smiled through it, lit up the room, and beamed positivity.
2 years ago she was diagnosed with an operable cancer and the prognosis was good! Since then, the relentless cancer kept coming back in various forms causing countless surgeries and crushing her dreams and thwarting to crush her spirit too. But she didn’t let it. She pressed on, she fought with all that she had, and her loving family stood by her side through it all.
It it is with great sadness and a very broken heart to say that my sweet loving friend lost this battle today. She courageously gave in to the suffering with her family and her beloved Buchan frisées, Bear and Betty by her side.
It it breaks my heart that such an incredible family has had to endure so much over the past 2 years between the countless surgeries, chemo treatments etc and worry for their daughter/sister and now they have to lay her to rest. I’m hoping to raise some money for their family in lieu of flowers to help offset the upcoming expenses and to help them in any way possible.
I have been so fortunate to have such a special bond with Suz and her family over the past 5 years. I know if you’re reading this, Suzanne has touched your life in some way too and for that, we should consider ourselves so lucky. Please consider giving even a little bit to a wonderful family who had to say goodbye much too soon.
