Expense Relief

So as some of you may know, my father was diagnosed with breast cancer and treated for it over the past months. We were told he was cancer free maybe 6 weeks ago. We had recently raised some money to help with his treatment via a pink Stormtrooper helmet provided by Walt's Trooper Factory.

The other day he told my sister and I that they recently found out it had spread aggressively throughout his spine and a few of his ribs. He’s terminal, and his doctor gave him about a year to live.

Now, it’s not exactly a secret my father and I have had our issues, but now isn’t the time for petty squabbles. He’s started organizing some of his own affairs, as well as planning himself some trips and events over the next year. There’s quite a bit going on this summer, including some he wants me to attend.

I want to go with him. These will be my last chances, for the both of us, to let us enjoy some memories we haven’t been able to. The trips themselves won’t be costing a lot, the big issue is I would have to take time off of work and lose money in that sense. Rent, groceries, car payment, ETC, would all become absolutely crippling.

We just moved, and I just had to take a month off of work for annual training with the Guard (which won’t even mostly match what I would have made at my day job), so I feel like it’s just been a constant game of catch up, but this isn’t something I can afford to miss.

I am accepting donations simply to help cover my time off of work with my father. I don't expect to get that much, nor do I fault those that don't donate. So many friends recommended I do this, I figured it was worth trying. I absolutely appreciate the thought and the selflessness that goes into anything you can or do give.
