Expedition to Kilis

Dear Fellows,
My name is Michele Flori, and I am from Italy. The picture that you see was taken last Christmas in Kilis, a Turkish town 5 kilometers far from the Syrian border. Since long time I wanted to do something for that people, not only because volunteering is right and enriches your life, but also because I have special memories of that country, where I traveled before the war, I left there many good fellows, and now I ignore whether they are still alive or dead.
So, returning back to Frankfurt, where I live, I start to build a project in order to carry medical equipment (wheelchairs, artificial limbs, etc.) to a clinic in Kilis, run by the NGO International Blue Crescent, which is helping me for the logistics (especially a permission from the authorities to enter Turkey long with the material).
Yes, because the idea was make a fund-raising campaign, in order to purchase at least a minimum part of the list as it has been written down by the doctors.
All this material will be deliver to the clinic of the International Blue Crescent, in Kilis (www.ibc.org.tr).
THE MISSION IS PLANNED FOR THE COMING SUMMER. In this very moment, a surgery doctor in Florence is taking information about selecting the items. The sum that I put here is an estimate to the low (just a spirometer, I have been told, costs some hundreds of euros!), and the second-hand van will serve for next humanitarian missions: the oil and all the expenses of the journey are on me, and on the two old friends who will come with me.
