Exavier's Been Shot - Recovery Fund

Donation protected

On March 5th, 2017, Exavier was found on Curtis Rd, near M30.  This sweet 2 year old cat was in good spirits despite being found with a terribly concerning leg wound.  He was brought to us on the 6th and was immediately taken in for veterinary care.  We had first thought Exavier had been stuck in a car engine, or possibly attacked by another animal.  We soon found out that Exavier had been SHOT.  He was shot with bird shot in fact, which has done significant damage to his leg.
The team at Eastman Animal Clinic quickly got him in for surgery.  Exavier came out of surgery just fine thankfully. The vets had to cut out a lot of dead tissue, and infection, meaning he may have been suffering from the wound for a while.   The ligaments in his leg were thankfully all intact.  Exavier exhibited deep pain in his toes, and the vets are hopeful he will regain full control of the leg.   At this point we are hoping he will heal fine, but there is a possibility of him needing a second surgery to place a pin in his leg if he is not healing properly.  This sweet boy also had to have one toe amputated as it was badly dislocated.  We assume this injury was from running away or getting stuck when he was shot and trying to escape.

Recovery will be long for Exavier but he's a sweet boy who is in GREAT spirits!

Please donate toward his surgery and recovery if you can.  If he needs a second surgery, we will certainly update everyone on his needs for that.
