Erin Greene Memorial

On February 26, 2016, Heaven gained an angel by the name of Erin Greene. For those of us who knew and loved Erin, this goodbye came much too soon. Her warm heart, unbreakable enthusiasm, and love of all God's people made a deep impact on this Earth. Each one of us has an Erin story to share, a moment where she brightened our day, or a time that she gave compassion with immesearuble strength. Erin was truly a beautiful person, and we all know the amount of pixie dust this girl had, will make her the brightest star in the night sky.

If you did not know Erin, let us share a little of her story with you now:

For the last three years, Erin had been battling Wegener's Disease (granulomatosis with polyangiitis), an uncommon disorder that causes inflammation of the blood vessels in the nose, sinuses, throat, lungs and kidneys. It is one of a group of blood vessel disorders called vasculitis. It slows blood flow to some of your organs. The affected tissues may develop areas of inflammation called granulomas, which sometimes affect how these organs work.

Throughout her battle with the disease, Erin continued her work as a cast member at Disneyland - both as a character attendant and in guest services. However, the disease limited her ability to work a regular schedule. Her medical debt was constantly growing; a single monthly chemotherapy treatment could cost up to $20,000. Recently, her insurance company had revoked her coverage.

Erin's brother Ben describes her as "an incredible powerful force for good in this world." From the pixie dust she spread at Disney, to her constant upbeat attitude, he is right. Being sick didn't stop Erin from being a good friend or making days brighter for her guests at Disney. She continued to inspire those who knew her to make the world even just a little brighter and more magical everyone.

Please contribute to help Erin's family with her medical debt and funeral expenses, including bringing her home to Ada, Michigan from Orlando, Florida.

Heartbreaking loss like this cannot be summed up in words for the family members and close friends of Erin. The Greene family needs our support now, more than ever. Because of Erin's compassion for the world, we ask you now to return the favor for Erin, by helping the Greene family during this time of grief. Anything, no matter how small, will be a true gift to this family, and an honor to Erin's memory.

Erin worked so hard to make this world a brighter place for everyone in it. Let us prove to Erin that her pixie dust worked, and we can make magic real by coming together as a community and supporting the Greene family.

As Erin would say, "Have a magical day!"
