Every Woman Deserves Care
In a response to "bleeding from wherever" and the blatant disregard for women everywhere, I ask you to donate to provide sanitary supplies for homeless women in San Diego County. Last year, this campaign raised $200 , and this year I'm hoping to double it. My goal is purchase over 2,000 tampons and pads and deliver to the Alpha Project, a non profit supporting the "tent city" in East Village. If you can not make a monetary purchase, I am happy to pick up an un-opened box from you at your convenience.
The Women's March on January 21st was more than just a day of action for me. It was the spark that began years of passionate demonstration and dissent. I marched that day because I was frustrated and horrified by what I saw happening in my country, and I wanted to join my fellow San Diego County women to share that frustration. But in turn, I was inspired by our collective strength. Seeing my neighbors of all ages, genders, orientations, and abilities walk alongside each other in solidarity, to know that we would fight for each other and those who could not fight for themselves gave me the drive to make a difference in my community. This summer has been a brutal one for women. From children being ripped from their mothers at the border to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's courageous testimony against her assaulter. I want to fight back against the rampant misogyny that permeates our every day life. I am determined to make life better for the women of my community; starting with some of our most vulnerable..
