Evan & Jennifer Summers

In the world of holistic, natural health, you meet some of the most incredible people; people that are giving of their time and knowledge without asking anything from us in return. I have found one of those people in Evan Summers, along with his wonderful wife Jennifer. I don’t know how many of you read Evan’s recent Facebook announcement that he will soon be facing another major abdominal surgery. This time, he needs another hernia repaired as well as removal of the mesh that was implanted during the initial hernia repair. A Little Background: Evan’s first hernia operation was October 2016. A month later, during Thanksgiving of that same year, another hernia developed and became strangulated so emergency surgery was necessary. Unfortunately, during that second surgery, he was also gifted with a staph infection that landed him back in the Emergency Room in January 2017 and was sent home to recuperate with an open wound. Even though he is very good at hiding it, Evan has endured daily, debilitating pain since his first surgery in 2016. All the while, he has continued to serve our doTERRA community with selfless love and devotion, despite the personal struggles he has been dealing with for over 2 years. What’s Next: This next surgery (hopefully, the final fix) will remove the mesh from his body and surgically repair both the past and present hernias. Finally, because of the severity of his condition, and the fact that the mesh has caused so many problems, he also has to have a complete reconstruction of his abdominal wall completed. Evan is facing an all-day (8-12 hour) surgery, a 10-day hospital stay, an extremely long recovery period of non-activity (6-9 months), as well as losing his livelihood during this time period. He won’t be able to lift weight of any significant amount during the healing period, and, as such, he will be completely unable to operate his doTERRA business during his busiest time of the year. He has oil events scheduled throughout the spring/summer months, but he will not be able to carry his oils or set-up at any of his events. He may not even be allowed to drive. If you’re local (Georgia), give him a shout-out, ask for some dates and see what you can do to help!  Jennifer does have a full-time job, but now the strain of being the sole support of the family will be on her shoulders. She will sacrifice all of her vacation time during his hospital stay, traveling back and forth to the hospital, taking care of the house and caring for the needs of Evan’s Mom. Jennifer will also need to take off at least one additional week without pay when he comes home from the hospital. They are facing a financial and emotional nightmare; losing a paycheck and not knowing exactly when Evan will physically be able to get back to work. In the world of holistic, natural health, you meet some of the most incredible people; people that are giving of their time and knowledge without asking anything from us in return. I have found one of those people in Evan Summers, along with his wonderful wife Jennifer. I practically begged Evan & Jennifer to let me do this Go Fund Me for them for a couple of reasons: #1) While he is not my upline leader, nor has any responsibility to help me, he has contributed so much to my oil education just by sharing his wealth of knowledge so freely. #2) He has gotten many of our doTERRA friends & family to and from convention and made the journey so much easier to navigate. (To further indicate his selfless desire to serve his community, he still plans on keeping his Convention Intention Facebook page going to help us this year too, even though he should be focused on HIS recovery.) #3) He needs our help. They will need help, not only with hospital expenses, but with keeping up with regular household costs too. I want this family to know how much they are appreciated for all they do to help us!    Take a moment and share how Evan and Jen have touched your lives as they have mine and please contribute whatever you can!  I will be adding more photos as I figure out how to! Please feel free to add them if you have them! With my most humble thanks to all of you.
