Evacuation accommodation for the McKays

Our dear friends the McKays recently took a leap of faith and moved their family of Mom, Dad and seven children (ages 3-15) from the Okanagan up to Northern British Columbia to pursue a job opportunity in the town of Chetwynd BC.  Due to the size of their family, things seemed to be finally falling into place when they were able to secure a rental home within driving distance to his new workplace and large enough to house them all comfortably. But just eight months into living out this exciting new opportunity their foundation was literally undermined. The hill that the house had been sitting on for the last 40 years gave way and a landslide 500 metres wide took out their whole backyard along with the forest of trees living there leaving a mere 6 feet of earth between their house and a now 50 foot fall. By some miracle, no one was outside at the time. Mom and Dad quickly evacuated the house and called emergency services. The house and surrounding area were condemned and Dad and a friend were reluctantly given a short window of time to in order to clear out as much of their belongings as possible. Emergency services graciously provided them with one weeks worth of emergency housing in a one bedroom hotel room but that time is now up and as of the 1st of April they will have to find their own housing. This is easier said than done due to the booming resource economy of the North. We'd truly love to see them find not only a suitable house but a suitable and safe home. This truly great, salt of the earth family needs our help now until they can get their feet back under them.
