2018 European Transplant Games

Thank you for looking at my gofundme page. I am hoping to raise enough funding in order that I can hopefully attend the 2018 European Transplant and Dialysis Championships in Sardinia in June 2018 as part the Transplant Sport UK team GB. This event is a celbration of organ donation and will involve teams from all over Europe, and is a major sporting event!
I had a kidney and pancreas transplant in July 2012 after suffering end stage renal failure and having type 1 diabetes for 37 years. Unfortunately my transplanted pancreas stopped working on New Year's Eve so am again back to being a type 1 diabetic, but it's not going to stop me doing what I love, shooting arrows! (The kidney is working fine though which is the main thing!) I took up archery in order to enter the British Transplant Games in North Lanarkshire last year, my first ever competitve type of this sort of competition, and I recieved a gold medal for my age group, which went towards my teams' tally (The Edinburgh Transplant Team) I have also recieved several medals in Scottish Archery competitions and recieved a silver medal in the Scottish Disabled Championships in December 2017. I am looking to raise £1500 so that I can go to Cagliari and take part in the European games. The breakdown of this will be flights, accomodation and entry fee. Unfortunatley, entrants have to fund their own way.
Every time I pick a bow up, I honour my donor, Toby, whom without his generosity, I would not be here today. Any donation, will be gratefully recieved, and I hope that you can donate a couple of pounds to help me achieve gold again (hopefully!!) If I go overy target, any surplus will be put towards the British Transplant Games in Birmingham in August 2018, of which I am taking part as part of the Edinburgh Transplant Team.
