Poppy's House
Today my grandfather (Chet Podpora Sr.) lost his home in a fire. The house where my mother, uncle, cousins, sisters, my children and I had our best childhood memories. A selfless man, who'd give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, a wise man full of knowledge and facts, the most solid root of our family tree; he taught us about the stars, about each type of bird, bat, and butterfly. He was our home. No matter where we all went as time went on, Poppy's house brought us back.
That house and all that was inside, our baby pictures, books, and music, games, a high chair that held all our tiny behinds for over 30 years - it is all gone. Every flannel and pocketed t shirt that we've all grown to recognize as his signature look - these THINGS can mostly be replaced. Luckily, he was not home during this awful fire. He can never be replaced. I want to help him the way he has always helped the rest of his family. Please help us create a smoother beginning to this unexpected devastation to Chet Podpora's home.
