Building a Well in Ethiopia

Donation protected
We are freshmen and sophomores (Cate Vanner, Ashton Riley, Noah Di Filippo, Danielle Chassy, Gretchen Stoll, and Emily Krieger), at East Aurora High School in Western New York.  Ethiopia faces numerous problems relating to healthcare and wellness, the most significant problem the country faces to date is the lack of water sanitation and distribution. The country’s desert climate has resulted in many droughts over the past few years.  Around 9,000 children die each year from drinking this unsafe water. Many people, especially young women, have to walk long distances every day in order to obtain water that may not be safe to consume.  Another issue that the country faces is the lack of rainwater, which is needed for farming, but the little rainfall that they get is often not enough to support agricultural needs.  Overall, Ethiopia’s inability to provide clean drinking water to its citizens has resulted in famine and dehydration.  A major factor causing the scarcity of the water is the increasing acres of the Sahel land developing into deserts. We are hoping to improve this situation in any way we can and your donations are greatly appreciated. We will be withdrawing our funds ourselves to our personal bank account and then transferring it the LifeWater Organization that we are currently working with.
