Ethan's Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

Donation protected
Hey guys. Let me start by saying this: I'm just a kid with a dream. If you feel like I deserve a chance to make that dream come true, please keep reading.

In August 2017, the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles will be launching their 5th annual youth pilgrimage to the Holy Lands.

When I was first asked if I wanted to participate, it didn’t seem like something I would enjoy. Two weeks of walking through one of the most controversial places on the planet, in 100 degree heat - no thanks.

Yet I somehow found myself in a meeting (threatened - I mean, encouraged - by my youth group leader), where a tall, red-haired guy who apparently leads the trip explained all the cool stuff we will do. And he talked about how the trip has changed everyone who has gone. The leader explained that this wouldn't be a trip where all we do is go to church. This trip will give us the chance to pop the bubble we live in today.

That is exactly why I want to participate. Israel is a place where worlds collide, where faith, culture, tolerance and violence intersect. I have no doubt that this experience will shape my future and how I serve the world.

It will also give me the chance to explore not only my own faith but the faith of people who come from different religious traditions. And, I would actually get to walk in Jesus' footsteps.

To make it possible for me to go on the trip, I need to raise $2,500 to cover my airfare, housing and meals. The deadline to raise funds is the end of July.

Donations of any size are welcomed and very much encouraged. Thank You for helping me to live this dream!
