This page has been set up to help fund the peaceful laying to rest of Ernest Borges.. A family member to many whether he be brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, or grandpa.. As well as a friend to many..
Ernest suffered massive injuries at the hands an irresponsible inhumane individual who callously ran him over with there vehicle and then fled the scene.. his wounds were massive from a ruptured spleen and torn aorta to a broken neck that damaged his spinal cord, to a leg so battered it needed amputating, the other foot also losing circulation and facing amputation.. Not to mention the head injury that required shunts to placed in his head to relieve the bleeding on his brain.. It sounds brutal and it surely was. He never regained consciousness as these injuries were far to traumatic for him to overcome and at 6:55pm on Sunday May 5th with his kidneys failing and his liver shutting down his suffering ended and God took him home.. It was all so sudden, so unexpected and now the stress of trying to find a way financially to lay him to rest with the dignity.. something that person, that monster, who left him there in the street gave him not one ounce of!!! As of today Tuesday May 7th Ernest’s body remains at the hospital morgue in limbo. The family struggling with grief and how to pay for his burial.. It was decided that cremation would be the way in which he is laid to rest.. we are asking EVERYONE to please come together to help lay Ernest to rest..
Ernest was a good man, he hustled and worked very hard ALWAYS and it paid off when he was able to live out his passion when he opened his record shop In Portsmouth, Va. “Broadway Records” he loved music, loved entertaining his family and friends with his music collection, he loved to sing and he loved the community he served. He was kind and soft spoken. He Loved family and the BOND of family, he was loved by many.. I can’t hear “Duke of Earl” ever and not think of Ernest. I’m asking every family member who loved him, every customer who befriended and respected him, everyone who was family but never had the blessing of knowing him, and any stranger who is moved by this to come together and donate what you are able to in order to lay this good man to rest...
