Like most around my age - 45- I Have worked all my life (Since I was 17, when I was not in school.) Before becoming interested in computers and IT I was even an EMT before that to help people. I worked over 8 hours a day and some years I even worked 2-3 jobs a year when I could or at least the hours of it.
Last August 2015, My job was ending with IBM and I was about to move to Omaha, Nebraska with a new job until I was diagnosed with Cancer. By the time I got in, I found it was already Stage 3. This means it has already metasticized (spread) to my lymph nodes. I am stage 4 - terminal now.
I finished the 35 rounds of Radiation and the 4 rounds of Chemo, but the tumors are still there. I will have yet another scan to see how much surgery can take out, have it biopsied and see the status of what has spread.
Now, unemployment has run out and I am trying to make rent, my regular bills, and my bills at the hospital for all of the doctors and cancer doctors, labs, even the gas to get there and back.
Also pray my dear old old car will make it through all this LOL! At 12 years old shes still kicking, but even that is losing its way these days. I would love to take on another car that I have faith in - not brand new, but one with bugs worked out and is dependable and safe. If you happen to know of a car as such please feel free to let me know where I could get that at a discount! My current car is worth < $500 and I sure cannot take on payments!
If you can donate any little bit, believe me, it would help. I have had friends and churches send cards, prayers and more. They are what is giving me the strength to bow my head and ask for your help.
This would mean so much to me if I could meet my goal because I would get my bills paid and hopefully go back to a normal life again. After all is said and done, then I can move, get my life started again and have the job I have waited for so long for. Then I can pay it forward to someone else who is in my position.
