Cancer Sucks

On March 9, 2018, I received the biggest shock of my life. I heard the words “you have cancer.”  I never thought it would happen to me. Not at age 40. Not with a 6 year old and a 4 month old. It’s not fair. But life’s not fair, is it?

Over the last couple of months I’ve underwent surgery to remove the two cancerous spots. Then I developed an infection at the site. Once this is healed I can go for surgery again and get the port for chemo implanted.  After chemo I’ll do radiation and then we should be good to go. 

Unfortunately, my husband has had to take unpaid leave from his second job in order to take care of the kids.   This has put a bit of a financial burden on us. Medical bills from having the baby in November were still being paid and now a flurry of new bills have been added. It’s been overwhelming to say the least
