My name is Lisa France. Craig English, is my first cousin’s husband. Craig has experienced a devastating and unexpected health crisis. On April 13, 2017, Craig was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, which has led to an abundance of medical procedures, testing and surgery to remove the tumor. Results from the test has identified that Craig has Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma or DLBCL. What makes this condition rare, is that it is not typically found in the brain. It is a fast growing, aggressive cancer. Craig is a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Craig loves life, is an avid golfer, and the NY Giants #1 fan. Craig and his wife, Becky, have been married for 35 years and are the parents of three adult children, Melissa (Rocco), Julianne (Jon) and Nick. Craig recently retired after 30 years of employment with the Village of Endicott.
On April 17, Craig had surgery to remove the brain tumor. Although the tumor was removed, the Doctor explained that the malignancy would require intense treatment. This will consist of 19 weeks of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, with Craig having to be admitted to the hospital 2-3 days every other week. His treatment and care will also be under the supervision of the Oncology team at Roswell Cancer Hospital in Buffalo, NY
Becky is still currently working and has spent many hours nurturing Craig, taking him to numerous Doctor Appointments, and tending to the needs of their family.
Craig would never ask for help for himself, so I am asking for him. Please help to cover his out of town medical travel and uncovered medical expenses, and Becky’s future unpaid family leave, as she attends to Craig’s needs.
Let us try to lift this burden so they can concentrate on healing, love and peace. No amount is too small to help in easing this burden.
Also, a long term goal is to provide Craig with a therapy dog for emotional support and companionship.
